Ali Learned Early To Imitate & Innovate

When Muhammad Ali was beginning his pro career, he was interviewed on a sports talk-show, in his hometown of Louisville (KY). Also on the show was Gorgeous George, the flamboyant wrestler, who was in town for a match the night after Ali’s fight.
Ali didn’t have much to say beyond the conventional “I’ll do my best,” but the Gorgeous One practically melted the microphone with his over-the-top bragging and attacks on his opponent. Ali’s fight drew 4,000 fans while Gorgeous George’s drew 14,000.
The message was not lost on Ali. He realized that if he was going to draw—and make the big bucks—he had to become an entertainer as well as a fighter.
Ali did. He didn’t invent the idea he was using. Ali innovated by adapting it to his own situation.
Where in your life can you imitate and innovate to make yourself a greater success?

Bambino…Observing and learning from others, and then putting it into action certainly can speed one’s advancement as Ali demonstrated. Regards, Bob Meyer
