Entertainer Barters To Cover His Child-Support Payments

In my 28 years of covering the barter industry this is another example of creativity, and a “story” or barter deal I’ve never come across before.

And, as usual, both parties benefit. Entertainer Bobby Brown gets out of jail (where he spent three nights) when a radio station paid picked up the singer’s back support payments. And the radio station gets national publicity that’s worth considerably more than their investment.

The radio station is located in Washington, D.C., Hot 99.5 FM. They saw the opportunity to get considerable publicity by picking up the past-due child-support payments for R&B singer Bobby Brown (former husband of Whitney Huston).

In exchange, Brown has agreed to be an employee at the radio station for one week, where he will discuss what he did wrong and how he could turn his life around. Brown will be on the air with the station’s “The Kane Show” for the week.

We have hundreds of stories on the various ways individuals and companies have creatively used “what they had to get what they want” on our website (www.barternews.com) and you can read everyone of them in our Secondary Capital Section.
