“Karmic Capitalist” Owns Unique Boutique Hotels
April 14th, 2007 · by Bob Meyer · No CommentsBy Bob Meyer
Chip Conley, a 46-year-old with a Stanford MBA, has 35 unique California hotel properties stretching from Napa Valley to Los Angeles.
His company’s business is called Joie de Vivre Hospitality, and a personality test at the company’s web site will guide guests to a hotel based on style and persona, not price.
The niche-oriented, life-style oriented, deep emotional connection with users is backed up by statistics…four years ago 80% of the company’s web-driven reservations came from 3rd party sites. Today that number is 10% and falling.
For a further look at this unique company, see
Joie de Vivre.
