Bylund, Founder of Catalyst House, Receives Woman Of The Year Award
June 11th, 2007 · by Bob Meyer · No CommentsLynnea Bylund of Orange County, California will receive the 2006 Business Woman Of The Year Award for California from the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council.
In 2005 the council recognized Ms. Bylund as one of only twelve outstanding American Business Women of that year. Her recognition a second time is unprecedented.
Born and raised in Orange County, Ca. previously Bylund lived and worked in Washington, DC during much of the 90s where she was a lobbyist for small business and telecommunications issues.
She was the founder of two small business-based wireless trade associations and has lobbied on Capital Hill and at the FCC where she has spoken out strongly against the cable TV monopoly and consumer ans small business issues impacting upon the burgeoning wireless industry.
In 1995 Bylund became the first female in the world to be awarded a Broadband PCS operating permit (she was one of only 17 winners) along with Sprint, AT&T, Pacific Bell, etc. in the biggest cash auction in world history–$8 billion.
