Robust Holiday Season Expected For Barter Industry

September 20th, 2007 · by Bob Meyer · No Comments

Retailers are expecting a weak holiday season due to the credit crunch, housing slump and the uncertain job market. Add in rising prices for food and gasoline and the middle-income shoppers discretionary spending is under a lot of pressure.

Such conditions in the cash marketplace portends an above-average holiday season for trade exchanges (the commercial barter industry). More shopping on barter will fill the void…and the Barter Holiday Fairs around the country are expected to be unusually busy this year.
