Joe Torre’s Foundation Helps Kids
November 9th, 2007 · by Bob Meyer · No CommentsAppearing on CNBC Cable TV this afternoon, Joe Torre, former New York Yankee skipper talked about his foundation that is educating kids about domestic abuse. Torre’s foundation, the Safe At Home Foundation, is celebrating its 5th Anniversary tonight with a gala dinner in Manhattan.
The foundation’s first honoree is former Yankee outfielder Bernie Williams. (Who Torre said he was the closest to of all his former players.)
To raise money for the foundation an online auction has been set up with some 40 items available. The auction ends November 16th. Among the items available:
Golf package with Joe Torre in Hawaii.
12-day South African Safari for two
Bon Jovi-VIP tickets…meet & greet
Lunch with Arnold Palmer, etc.
