Barter & Referrals Boost Restaurant Sales

January 30th, 2008 · by Bob Meyer · No Comments

Here are four sound reasons why restaurants should barter.

Mr. Restaurant owner: Would you like more traffic? Gain more profits on a segment of your business (by acquiring needed products/services) at your variable cost?

When offering a percentage of your meals on trade, through a local trade exchange, or trading direct with one of your vendors, you’re way ahead of the game as well, because you’re acquiring what you get in return (trade dollars, or a specific product or service) at your barter cost of doing business (your cost of the food served).

Experience shows that a barter client will drive further to dine at a restaurant on trade…they will spend more on the meals and drinks…and because the meal’s on barter, they will also be more generous when tipping which makes the staff very happy!

And when that client finds the food and service is high quality, this extraordinary experience will be communicated far and wide.

So not only are you filling seats and creating greater ambiance for your establishment, but you’re also building, via word of mouth, a conduit for more cash and barter sales in the days ahead!

Never underestimate this ancient and powerful form of communication. Word-of-mouth is extremely potent because it is objective, independent and honest. People really do enjoy helping their friends, family, or colleagues with good information when they have a pleasurable dining experience.

Getting people to talk often and most favorably about you is by far the most important thing you can do to market your business.
