Western Sizzlin Corporation (Nasdaq: WEST) announced that it has extended the expiration date of its exchange offer for all of the outstanding shares of the largest barter company in the USA, ITEX Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ITEX).

The offer, which was scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Thursday, February 28, 2008, has been extended until 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, unless (more…)

Historically, when the consumer’s confidence drops and their discretionary spending slows, a recession is around the corner. And those in the barter business see added interest in barter to offset the slowdown in the “cash” business world.
