Bartered “Time-Hours” Aid Local Communities

Below is a reference to a story of Paul Glover, the founder of the Ithaca, N.Y. community currency “Hours.”
Glover set the system up so that the “Hours” currency could only be used in Ithaca, thereby improving the city’s economic flow and encouraging participants to put their faith in each other rather than the almighty dollar. For more on this fascinating story see: Hours
