Moreton Binn, one of the most creative corporate barter company executives, and the founder of Atwood Richards—for decades the largest and highest profile barter company in the world—shared his thoughts on “The Role Of Barter During A Recession.”
We interviewed Tolfe Lee Albert, the West Coast VP of the William B. Tanner Company. In this extensive 9-page coverage we illustrated three ways of bartering which included an agency-client commission barter program, barter broker-client/agency trading, plus an example of a barter broker “trading up.”
George Burtt, author of the book The Barter Way To Beat Inflation and also a trade exchange owner, revealed in a 5-page article an insider’s look at the six ways a trade exchange owner earns income. Another helpful bit of information was provided in Trader Drew’s column in which he covered the importance of creating a “don’t want list,” as well as a “want list.”
Also in this issue we discussed of the importance of using an appraiser for the big barter deals, and a story on two artists who have mastered the art of bartering. In the article, we illustrated how to barter artwork and defer the taxes.
