Tough Economic Times For Restaurants Should Boost Barter Use

The $558 billion Restaurant industry is in a recession, according to Ron Paul, president of restaurant researcher Technomic. The financial squeeze is hitting hardest at dinner. Here are some startling figures.

Forty-nine percent of restaurants surveyed by the National Restaurant Association reported that same store sales fell in January. And 54% of restaurants said customer traffic fell in January, for the fifth month in a row.
