We provided an informative case history on how to grow a barter company, “Start Small…Think Big!” The company studied was Sue Groenwald’s Barter Corp., one of the nation’s most successful independents. Included in the article were the five critical steps needed when undertaking the plunge!

We traveled to Chicago to cover the largest convention in NATE’s history. And David Johnstone, chairman of the Australian Reciprocal Trade Association, reported on the trade exchange industry’s dramatic growth in his country.

A Harvard expert explained the thought patterns that lead to success in “The Mind-Style Of The Entrepreneur.” Other stories were “How To Value Your Startup Venture” and “Preparing Your Business For Sale.”

Our Corporate Barter Section mainly focused on the cover story, “Savvy Hoteliers Are Traders!” Next, billionaire Sam Zell shared his perspective on the real estate marketplace, disclosing that “we are in the middle of a major watershed change in the real estate industry.” And we also disclosed how corporate barter companies are offering asset recovery, real estate trading strategies.

“The Best and the Brightest Barter” looked at another six super-successful individuals who used barter to build their wealth.

The countertrade section reported an update on “Countertrade In Russia,” as well as a piece on India’s new mandatory countertrade policy. And we ended with an exceptional 9-page article on “Tourism And Countertrade.”
