You Only Find Oil When You Drill
April 21st, 2008 · by Bob Meyer · No CommentsJust do it? These words are from John Masters, Canada’s most prolific oil-and-gas wildcatter, spoken on the eve of his retirement from the company he built:
“This is so simple it sounds stupid. But it’s amazing how few oil people really understand that you only find oil and gas when you drill wells.”
With these words this pioneer let managers in on his most valuable competitive secret: The only way to make things happen is to pick a starting point and drill. In other words: Just do it!
Excellent advice that many (most?) of us overlook. In other words, instead of focusing, and taking immediate daily action on what one wants, we have a tendency to do otherwise, filling our days jumping from one thing to another…and by-passing what we should be focusing on.
Have you “been going” to get started bartering soon…and haven’t taken action yet?
