Own your own business? Then you’re too busy to care much about the game of politics! And only one in four of you are reaching into your pocket and sending a candidate any money this year. That’s the bottomline according to the new Discover Card Small Business Watch survey.

And the majority of you (53%) don’t believe the coming election has provided a forum for owners to be heard. Not surprisingly given that small business doesn’t have the lobbying power in Congress.

What are you interested in? If someone was willing to listen?

1. The economy–top issue by far, 43% of those surveyed.
2. National Security…11%.
3. Healthcare…10%.
4. Government ethics & corruption…10%.
5. Iraq war…10%.
6. Immigration…8%.
